I used this tool to get those files: ardrone-batch-firmware-downloader · I am not related to Parrot S.A., and this repository is not supported nor endorsed by Parrot S.A. This repository purpose is just to help people like me willing to upgrade / downgrade their drone's firmware since the Parrot support page and the download url are both nonexistent now. Please be aware taht this may void your warranty (...but who cares if your drone has been bought in 2012). Use it at your own risks. It's really cool that it can be improved with updates, as all of them so far have improved the bird’s performance and functionality, but as the market has matured this drone finds itself placed in a price range now occupied by better options. If Parrot wants to extend this product’s life in the marketplace it should include two 2000mAh batteries in the package, giving it best of class flight time. As it stands, the AR.Drone 2.0 is a great idea that has been left behind by newer models, and although I enjoyed flying it I would not fully recommend purchasing it new today. To make all this work it sports an advanced design that includes an onboard CPU and memory, which is reflected in its semi-high price of $179. When it was released it was, and still is, a revolutionary product, with over half a million units sold. But does it still fly in today’s more competitive drone market? The “indoor” hull can also be used outdoors to protect against collisions in areas with trees and other obstacles, but its larger size increases drag, and diminishing agility in windy conditions. The Parrot is a bit larger than most beginner drones, and because of its size and weight it does require registration with the FAA, but it's a very simple process that only costs five bucks, and requires renewal each year.

In the box you get two hulls, one for indoor use and another – without the rotor guards – for outdoor use. Unlike some quadcopters the AR.Drone 2.0 is technically not ready to fly, though. Rough experience ... first I ordered AR.Drone 2.0 GPS Edition .. and it never came .. at the time of the order, said one was in stock ... after about a month, I called and was told they were out of them. Cancelled the order .... ordered again from a different source ... same thing AGAIN, except they phoned me to say the product has been discontinued ... In other words, substitute with a Parrot AR. Drone 2.0 Elite Edition in one box and the Flight Recorder in another. They would eat the difference in price. I said OK. I got an email the Drone shipped Friday .. no mention of flight recorder. I emailed 'em on that .. no reply yet. Anyway ... hope to soon have my products and learn from this forum. AR.Drone 2.0 GPS Edition discontinued???? ... I'm not sure how much you will actually learn on it due to it being controlled by a device other than a traditional Tx/Rx system. I suppose you could grasp the basics of how a quad flies with it... Wish I could be more help... ... You are very kind to reply at all. As I have not received the product, don't know how much here applies to it .
