I bought this DVD player specifically for playing CDs thru my stereo system. It’s a simple and small scale unit to sit atop other components. It does not have a display in the player to show which track it’s on. For my purposes the built-in buttons on the face are all I needs to operate: play, advance track, pause, open/close (which starts to play upon closing). I’ve tried CDs from the 80s thru today and all play flawlessly. It comes with a full featured remote but I do not seem to need it for my specific use.
