The AXYS speaker brand, pioneered by Duran Audio and now integrated under the HARMAN Professional umbrella (often rebranded or co-branded with JBL Intellivox), represents the pinnacle of Beam Shaping and Digital Directivity Synthesis (DDS) technology. Axystunnel Jblpro

Product Insights & Technology

AXYS products are defined by their ability to electronically "steer" and "shape" sound beams, allowing for precise coverage in acoustically challenging environments like transit tunnels, historic cathedrals, and modern transport hubs. Jblpro Jpro

* Key Product Lines:

* Intellivox DS/DSX/HP-DS: Active digital beam shaping columns. The DSX series is a recent trend focusing on extended frequency range for high-fidelity music, moving beyond simple speech reinforcement. Jblpro Avinteractive

* AXYS Tunnel (ADC series): Specialized passive column speakers for harsh environments, featuring EN54:24 certification for emergency voice alarm systems. Axystunnel

* Technological USP: The DDS algorithm maps sound to listener areas while avoiding reflective surfaces (glass, hard ceilings), significantly increasing the Direct-to-Reverberant ratio and speech intelligibility. Jblpro

Market Trends (2024–2026)

The professional audio market is seeing several key shifts that directly impact the AXYS/Intellivox ecosystem: Mordorintelligence Marketsandmarkets

1Dante Integration: A major shift toward networked audio. Recent updates to the Intellivox line emphasize Dante® connectivity and IP control for remote system management. Jblpro Avinteractive
2Architectural Preservation: There is growing demand for "invisible" audio in museums and parliaments. The trend favors slim, customizable columns that can be recessed or custom-painted to match heritage interiors. Avinteractive
3Advanced Surveillance: Integration with life-safety systems is a non-negotiable trend, with built-in pilot tone detection and automatic switchover becoming standard requirements for public infrastructure projects. Axystunnel Jblpro

B2B Sourcing Landscape

Genuine AXYS/Duran Audio products are typically sold through specialized professional AV distribution networks rather than open wholesale platforms. However, the B2B market for phased array column speakers—the core technology behind AXYS—is active with high-quality alternatives and components.

* Phased Array Options: Products like the DSP1500 series offer digitally steerable column arrays starting at roughly $1,149/piece, targeting the same conference and transport hub markets. Alibaba

* OEM Column Speakers: For large-scale paging installations where beam shaping is less critical than form factor, ABS aluminum column units are available at $169-$189/piece. Alibaba
