Baoer 388 Fountain Pen Review - KenCrooker.com

How does the Baoer 388 compare to the Parker Sonnet as a writer? I have no idea. And that’s not the point of this review. Now that we have the “evil twin” business out of the way, I’m going to review this pen for what it is: an inexpensive, but usable Chinese fountain pen. So if you’re in the market for a nice-looking, dependable pen that you can use every day, the Baoer 388 is a great option. Especially for the price. ... Baoer is not only who made “cheap Sonnet”. I have Kaigelu 356 (http://inln.me/things/fountain_pens/kaigelu-356/). Thanks for writing so nice and comprehensive reviews on fountain pens! I own a Baoer 388, sometimes it doesn’t write continuous (although not out of ink) and since a few days it leaves full drop of ink on the paper. Just got one…good little pen. I have three actual Sonnets, and I like the Baoer nib better than the metal Parker M nibs on two of mine. The Parker gold nib is nicer, though. ... Thank you for reading, Joe. I’m glad you like your 388. Their quality control is spotty, but if you can get a good one, they can write wonderfully. ... As with most all Chinese fountain pens, you hit it on the head, the QC is wretched.

A Review of the Baoer 388 Fountain Pen - Built from Ink and Tea

If there were no engravings on the pen, I would term it one of the most nondescript fountain pens that I have ever seen. Yet, even in its nondescript fashion, it maintains an air of elegance. The engravings of the “Baoer” brand and “388” model number draw the eye to the cap, where the gold cap band is joined by a decidedly Parker-looking, arrow shaped clip, topped with a black cap jewel. - the jinhao X750 is even more tight so I prefer it for carrying around, Who wants a Fountain Pen with a loose cap in his pockets? For opening just put your thumbs together. The baoer 388 is great for heavy writing und use, I can wirte several DinA4 pages without cranks (i have glove Size 9,5-10). Unfortunately, the cap is made so that it is quite a bit too tight, taking some effort to pull off and snap back on the pen. Nib (8) This relatively nice looking nib holds some interesting surprises! Other Baoer nibs, both fine and medium, have provided smooth operation and pleasant experience. This one is no different ...in those regards. Beginning to write with it, I exert a bit of pressure and suddenly - flex! The flexing is not large, yet it is unique and unexpected. Filling System (7) The Baoer 388 takes both long and short standard international cartridges, and it comes with a converter. Conclusion (7.5) In conclusion, I think that Baoer has crafted another good quality pen that is easily affordable for fountain pen users with all budgets. Its semi-elegant looks would make this pen a great gift for writers from the high school class room to the corporate world.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste. Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet. Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib.
