In industrial and medical sectors, a "blister keyboard" is a type of embossed membrane switch. Unlike flat membrane keypads, these use a heat-formed or embossed top layer (the "blister") to provide a physical guide for fingers and house a tactile dome. Deskthority

* Technical Core: It typically features a metal dome or poly-dome under an embossed graphic overlay. This provides the "snap" or tactile feedback that standard flat membranes lack. Lenovo

* Key Applications: Used heavily in medical devices, petrol pumps, and industrial control panels due to its 100% waterproof (IP67/IP68) and dust-proof nature. Alibaba

* Sourcing Insight: These are often custom-manufactured components rather than off-the-shelf consumer products. Current wholesale prices range from $0.26 to $8.50 per unit depending on complexity and material. Alibaba Alibaba
