But I am a bit concerned, not entirely sure if I managed to seal it all the way around. You're supposed to leave a little space in the glue for air to pass through - I am like 50% sure if there's a passage through. Question is: IF the CPU is Air-Tight, between the die+chip and the IHS - is this a problem? I did try scrape with a knife (same method I used for opening the original seal) with no luck - this seal is so tight. Share ... Most people recommend not re-gluing the IHS. Just need to make sure the IHS stays centered on the chip when closing the latch, since it will tend to slide. If you ever need to reapply more LM it makes it very easy. Epoxy was not wise since it's very hard, unless you let it dry with the CPU latched in the socket, it could be bending the PCB when you close the latch. The silicone that comes on it is soft in comparison, so it allows for some flex of the IHS when the socket is closed. I've heard rumors that the 8gen series intel CPU's (like my 8700) has a thinner PCB than other generations - which makes using delid tools risky - as it can break/bend the PCB due to the force and thin-ness. I did use a knife to delid mine, idk if this is true - if it's safer with delid tool or knife with this gen.

Yes, because the first time I tried to put CLU on I didn't do the greatest job so I put on Arctic silver 5, re-ordered CLU, sealed the IHS back onto the CPU with gasket maker. A few weeks later when the CLU came again I had no issue getting the IHS off again with my delid tool (Rockit88). I just put a very small amount on each corner of the IHS, Just enough to kind of "glue" the IHS to the CPU. I saw some other delid guide that mentioned superglue. I really don't like that idea. From what I hear you should not technically need to delid again; however if you want to check again one day you should have no issue if you used RV silicone.
