Zu DWX is a highly versatile loudspeaker, able to perform as a bookshelf, stand-mount, center, studio monitor, or low profile floor stander. “Update on my stand solution for my DWX’s, now that everything is finally setup. Stands were custom built by Kemela and sit on Thowshend Seismic Isolation feet. The improvement in inner detail, center focus and its effect of truly putting the stage in soundstage compared to having them on the same console (desktop workstation basically) is NOT subtle! Waaaay bigger improvement than I expected! These speakers continue to blow my mind, especially in the small space! In fact the drivers and guts of the DWX and DW-6 are the same. DWX uses traditional bass reflex box/driver tuning and features a front-firing port. The front-side short-pipe port allows for better timing of bass frequencies, it also allows DWX to be placed very near walls and in confined spaces without degrading performance due to port position.
