The Huawei E3131 is a legacy 3G USB modem that reached its peak popularity between 2012 and 2015. In 2026, the market for this product has significantly shifted due to the global phase-out of 3G networks, making it a "legacy" or "specialized sourcing" item rather than a mainstream consumer product.

Product Analysis: Huawei E3131

Market Trends & Insights (2026)

13G Obsolescence: As major carriers globally (particularly in the US, Europe, and parts of Asia) have shut down 3G bands to repurpose spectrum for 5G, the E3131 is now primarily sourced for legacy industrial systems, M2M (Machine-to-Machine) applications, or specific regions where 3G remains the primary infrastructure Huawei Alibaba.
2The Shift to 4G/LTE: The Huawei E3372 (4G LTE Cat4) has effectively replaced the E3131 as the standard USB dongle. It offers significantly higher speeds (150 Mbps download) and better stability for modern web standards Alibaba E-Catalog.
3Pricing & Sourcing: While the E3131 is harder to find in retail, it is available in the B2B market for $5.00–$15.00 per unit in bulk Alibaba.
