Galaxy Core 2 Replacement Parts Guide

The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 (SM-G355H), originally released in July 2014, has transitioned from a budget entry-level smartphone to a niche commodity in 2026. Product & Market Insights

* Historical Context: Launched as a budget Dual SIM device running Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Its 4.5-inch display and 5 MP camera were competitive for its tier in 2014 but are now largely incompatible with mainstream apps like WhatsApp or YouTube Mobgsm.

* 2026 Market Resurgence: Search data shows a significant volume spike in May 2026 (reaching a relative interest score of 91). This was largely fueled by the #Core2CameraChallenge on TikTok, where creators sought the "crunchy" lo-fi photo quality of its 5MP sensor, and a growing "digital detox" movement using the device as a secondary "dumbphone" .

* Wholesale & Refurbishment: The B2B market is primarily focused on replacement parts. Screens and digitizers are available for as low as $0.50 per unit in bulk, while replacement batteries (EB585157LU) range from $2.50 to $3.15. There is almost zero wholesale volume for new-in-box units, with most supply coming from local secondhand markets where functional units trade for $25–$45 USD.
