Gionee E3
Overview
Product sourcing insights & recommendations
The Gionee Elife E3, launched in May 2013, is now a discontinued legacy device. While it was once a popular mid-range choice known for its slim 7.9mm design and 4.7-inch AMOLED display Devicespecifications, it has largely transitioned into the second-hand and "vintage" electronics market.
Core Product Insights
* Legacy Specs: Powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-core processor and 1GB RAM, it originally ran Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Gadgets360.
* Design Highlight: Its slim profile and vibrant color options (Blue, Pink, etc.) were its primary market differentiators Indiatimes.
* Current Status: Officially discontinued and obsolete for modern application use (e.g., WhatsApp, YouTube) due to its 3G-only connectivity and lack of recent Android updates GsmarenaSwappa.
Market Trends & Availability
* Secondary Market: The device retains very low resale value, often listed between $10–$40 on global second-hand platforms like Swappa or local classifieds Mobiles4SaleSwappa.
* Wholesale & B2B: In the wholesale market, original E3 units are virtually non-existent. Current listings often focus on generic refurbished Android phones or bulk spare parts for various brands, as Gionee's original market share has been absorbed by competitors like Xiaomi and Oppo StatcounterAlibaba.
* Spare Parts: Finding authentic batteries or screens for the E3 is difficult; most B2B suppliers now offer "all-in-one" repair kits for general budget brands rather than model-specific legacy parts .
If you are looking for current opportunities, the brand Gionee has recently pivoted toward rugged budget smartphones and basic feature phones in specific emerging markets, though they no longer hold the "high-performance" reputation they had during the E3's era.
