Golden Modem
Overview
Product sourcing insights & recommendations
The term "Golden Modem" refers to professional handheld testers used by telecommunications technicians to certify and troubleshoot ADSL, VDSL, and G.fast broadband lines. These devices are "golden" because they serve as a reference standard, emulating a subscriber's modem (CPE) to isolate whether network faults lie within the ISP's infrastructure or the user's equipment.
