The MediaTek Helio P70 (MT6771V), launched in late 2018, has transitioned from a mid-range workhorse to a legacy chipset in the 2026 market landscape. Built on a 12nm FinFET process, it once powered popular devices like the Realme U1, Oppo F11 Pro, and Vivo V15 Mediatek Manilashaker.

Market Trends & Current Status (2025–2026)

* Technological Obsolescence: The Helio P70 is now considered entry-level or legacy. Modern mid-range processors, such as the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 series, offer significantly higher efficiency (4nm/6nm vs 12nm) and up to 4x the performance in AI and gaming tasks Versus.

* Connectivity Shift: A major market barrier is its lack of 5G support. As global networks pivot toward 5G, the P70’s 4G LTE Cat-7 modem limits its appeal to ultra-budget or specialized legacy applications.

* Wholesale & Supply: Active manufacturing of new P70 smartphones has largely ceased. Current B2B listings primarily consist of used inventory or newer chips like the MT6769 (Helio G80/G85) which have superseded the P70 in the budget segment Alibaba.

Technical Performance Comparison

Feature	Helio P70 (Legacy)	Modern Mid-Range (2026)
Node	12nm FinFET	4nm / 6nm
AnTuTu Score	~150,000	500,000+
Network	4G LTE Only	5G Sub-6GHz
Common Use	Secondary/IoT	Primary Smartphone

Key Insights for Sourcing

1Consumer Sentiment: Users now view P70-equipped devices as "functional for basics" but unfit for modern social media apps or high-resolution streaming due to software compatibility risks (mostly stuck on Android 10/11) Techcenturion.
2Niche Resilience: The chip remains visible in the rugged phone segment (e.g., Ulefone, Blackview) where durability is prioritized over processing speed, though even these brands are migrating to the Dimensity line for better battery life Techcenturion.
3Pricing Impact: Wholesale prices for devices or chipsets in this tier have plummeted, making them viable only for extreme low-cost educational tablets or industrial IoT controllers.
