Market Trends & Insights

* Legacy Ink Scarcity: The printer uses HP 02 cartridges. Official "in-date" ink is extremely difficult to find, with most retail stock being expired. This has shifted the market toward compatible third-party cartridges and refillable systems sourced from B2B hubs like Zhuhai. Hp Compandsave

* Resale Value: Units typically sell for approximately $60 USD on the second-hand market, a sharp drop from its $299 MSRP. Its value is primarily driven by hobbyist photographers who appreciate its specific color rendering. Reddit Pcmag

* Consumer Sentiment: While historical reviews were excellent, modern sentiment is frustrated by high maintenance costs. Experts now recommend transitioning to EcoTank (refillable tank) or color laser printers to avoid the high cost of individual cartridges. Reddit Youtube
