Hp Pro Tablet 608

The HP Pro Tablet 608 G1 is a legacy enterprise-grade Windows tablet that was notable for its premium 4:3 high-resolution display and early adoption of USB-C. As of 2026, it is largely considered obsolete for mainstream business use, though it retains niche value in specific industrial or retail applications.

* Key Limitations: The tablet is prone to severe overheating (reaching up to 51.7°C/125°F under load), leading to aggressive performance throttling. The Intel Atom x5 processor and 2GB/4GB RAM are insufficient for modern software demands. UmpcportalNotebookcheck

* Modern Shift: The enterprise tablet market has moved toward AI-integrated premium devices (like the Surface Pro series) or highly ruggedized industrial tablets. The Pro Tablet 608's small form factor is now mostly occupied by smartphones or specialized handheld POS devices. Accio

* B2B Availability: Search results on B2B platforms like Alibaba show that suppliers have pivoted to newer 2-in-1 Windows 11 tablets (e.g., HP Elite x2 or generic OEM models with i5/i7 processors) rather than maintaining stock of the 608 G1.

Recommendation

* For Business Use: It is not recommended to source these for standard professional workflows due to thermal issues and outdated performance.

* For Industrial/Retail Use: If you have legacy systems requiring a 4:3 Windows device, ensure units are thoroughly tested for battery health and thermal stability. Otherwise, modern alternatives like the Surface Go 4 or rugged industrial PDAs offer significantly better longevity and security. NotebookcheckAlibaba
