The Huawei B890 4G LTE Smart Hub is a legacy LTE Category 3 device primarily recognized for its unique integration of internet and landline voice services. While it is less common in the current 2026 primary market, it remains a functional choice for specific remote or "budget-friendly" applications where integrated voice support is critical.

Product Overview & Key Features

The B890 acts as an all-in-one connectivity hub for home offices, remote cabins, or boats. 4Gltemall Howardforums

* Integrated DECT Base: Its standout feature is a built-in DECT base station, allowing for wireless landline phone connections (up to 300m range) directly via the SIM card. 4Gltemall

* Connectivity: Supports LTE Cat3 (100Mbps DL / 50Mbps UL) across various 4G bands. It features 3 LAN ports, 1 WAN port (for automatic failover/backup), and a USB 2.0 port. 4Gltemall

* Limitations: It lacks 5GHz Wi-Fi and 2G (EDGE) support, which can be a drawback in urban congested areas or ultra-remote zones with only basic cellular coverage. 4Gltemall

Market Trends & Insights

* Shift to High-Speed Categories: The market has largely moved beyond the Cat3 standard of the B890. Modern alternatives like the Huawei B535 (Cat7) or Cat19 models offer significantly higher throughput and dual-band Wi-Fi. Ispreview Router-Switch

* B2B Sourcing Insight: The B890 is now primarily found through specialized networking equipment suppliers rather than general retail. Current B2B listings favor newer "Smart Hub" models with app-based controls (HiLink) and Cat4+ performance (150Mbps+).

* Voice over LTE (VoLTE) & 5G: Current trends show a shift toward 5G CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) that integrates 5G connectivity with advanced smart home features, rendering older hubs like the B890 obsolete for high-bandwidth users. Ispreview Confusedbird

For users needing the specific DECT phone integration of the B890, it remains a rare niche product, but for general high-speed home internet, modern Huawei B-series or 5G CPE Pro routers are recommended. 4Gltemall Router-Switch
