Huawei E156G USB Modem Replacement Guide

The Huawei E156G is currently classified as a legacy 3G device and has reached its End-of-Life (EOL) status. Due to the global "3G Sunset," its utility is rapidly declining as major network operators deactivate 3G infrastructure in favor of 4G and 5G.

I have prepared a comprehensive market analysis report detailing the E156G's technical specifications, current market trends, and modern 4G LTE alternatives for sourcing. The findings indicate that procurement should now focus on newer models like the Huawei E3372, which offers significantly higher data speeds and long-term network compatibility.

Key takeaways include:

Speed Limitation: The E156G is capped at 3.6 Mbps, which is insufficient for modern high-bandwidth tasks.
Market Status: Production has ceased; availability is limited to clearance or refurbished units.
Network Obsolescence: Over 94% of US and 64% of EU operators have already retired 3G services, rendering the device obsolete in those regions.
