The new Elite 10 and Elite 8 Active earbuds are a final farewell. Jabra isn’t exiting the audio category entirely, however, with Digital Trends noting that the company will continue developing its enterprise-focused Evolve lineup. The second-gen Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 earbuds will still be available to buy later this month as the final entries to the Elite lineup. Jabra will continue to provide support for the products for “several years,” and expects its remaining inventory to be depleted by the end of 2024. Jabra’s parent company GN announced that it’s winding down its Elite and Talk audio product ranges in order to “increase focus and resources on more attractive parts” of its business, citing the rising costs of competition. The departure for Talk — a dated-looking lineup of over-the-ear mono Bluetooth headphones — isn’t surprising given the decline in that category, but Jabra’s Elite range of wireless earbuds have been generally well received since launching in 2016.

They will, however, be "the last two product introductions in this product line". Despite announcing two new earbuds earlier this week, Jabra's parent company GN Audio has announced that it will be exiting the competitive consumer wireless earbuds market with the gradual discontinuation of the Jabra Elite range in 2024, along with its Talk line of mono Bluetooth models (which is seeing a decline in demand.) The new Gen 2 products — the Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 Generation 2 — will be the last two product introductions in this product line, but they will remain available through 2024 and beyond. A Jabra spokesperson told Digital Trends that “customers will be able to buy them in the usual online and retail channels, as well as Jabra.com, and products will still be supported throughout their lifetime, as normal.” I didn't expect Samsung to be the one crossing the finish line first here, given how much noise Dolby Vision 2 made when it was announced (September 2025). The company has confirmed its next HDR format, and it’s arriving on a popular OTT platform this month, beating Dolby Vision 2 to the punch. Read more ... CMF's new earbuds ditch touch controls for a rotating dial on the case. Jabra was one of the first companies to create wireless earbuds, and its Elite line of products continuously met with positive reviews. At Digital Trends, Jabra Elite earbuds have had an almost constant presence on our list of the best wireless earbuds you can buy. However, pressure from major brands like Apple, Sony, Sennheiser, and Bose at the top end of the market, as well as competition from budget-friendly options from 1More, Soundcore, and Earfun, squeezed Jabra’s efforts to make products that were both competitive and profitable.

Hello u/mrkaroui - Thank you for your question. We anticipate a firmware update for the Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 in early 2025. Support for all Jabra products is provided for the life of the product. Hello u/j4mrock - GN wants to stand out with high-quality products in markets where we can take leadership. At Jabra, we are fully committed as a global leader in enterprise audio and video solutions as well as high-quality OTC hearing. Although the re-focusing of the Elite range towards the premium segment, which was initiated in 2023, has resulted in a much stronger profitability level during 2024, the high investment needed to be competitive in future innovation, sales, and marketing is not deemed long-term justified. Going to upgrade to the 8 active this year 2024 because I’m hearing Jabra is exiting. They are the best wireless ear buds for performance and budget. ... Mine too. I especially love the water resistance of their ear buds. I have (had?) the elite 2 85 headset as well which is awesome…my dog ate it a couple weeks ago, I’d like to grab another one of those before they go away as well. Hello u/mcheeMonkey - The LE Audio feature for Elite 10 and Elite 8 Active is currently scheduled for release in Q4 2024. Thank you. ... Noooo I love my jabras.

The Elite Active 75t have accompanied me to the gym and on walks in the early morning drizzle more times than I can remember. Fast-forward four years since their launch, and Jabra has announced it is axing its entire earbud lineup for good. Shocking though it is, the company swiftly brushed the news aside. On June 11, 2024, the company unveiled the last products in the Elite line, the Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 and Elite 8 Active Gen 2. While both buds are one heck of a swan song, there is no guarantee of support lasting beyond 2024. If you are anything like me, workout earbuds once resigned to the peripherals seem increasingly enticing by the minute. ... These earbuds are excellent, even if they’re moribund. GN (Jabra’s parent company) is retiring its Elite earbud category to focus on more profitable areas in its Hearing, Enterprise, and Gaming business. Consequently, Jabra plans to deplete its earbuds stocks by the end of 2024 by offering “extraordinary promotional activities.” In other words, Black Friday sales will be crazy this year. Jabra is retiring its true wireless earbuds category to focus on more profitable areas of its business. The Jabra Elite 8 Active Gen 2 are almost certain to go on sale, and I’d be remiss not to grab a pair. Similarly, its Gaming and Consumer division saw 0% organic growth in Q1 of 2024. This compares to 17% growth in Q1 of 2023. The company cites increasing competition and rising manufacturing costs as two major reasons for these trends. According to Jabra’s Interim Report for Q1 of 2024, the company’s ReSound Nexia hearing aids will offset much of the anticipated financial downtrends.

Long story short, yes, Jabra earbuds and headsets are still worth buying or at least considering, despite the discontinuation of the Elite and Talk lines. That said, Jabra Evolve earbuds and headsets are pricier business-centric product lines, which is why it’s also worth considering relevant alternatives from SteelSeries, Sony, Sonos, Apple and other brands. ...
