How to Source Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 Keyboard (K4PHV, V3272)

The market for the Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 keyboard (Part Numbers: K4PHV, V3272) is currently in an advanced obsolescence phase, characterized by extremely limited retail stock and a transition to niche secondary and wholesale markets.

Product & Market Insights

Product Status: The Dell Inspiron Mini 1012, originally released around 2010, and its official spare parts reached End-of-Life (EOL) status years ago. Official Dell support and production for these parts ceased between 2015 and 2017 Amazon Dell.
Availability Trend:
Retail: Specialized Dell parts suppliers like Parts-People report these items as Out of Stock, indicating that new OEM supply is exhausted Parts-People.
Wholesale: B2B listings on platforms like Alibaba.com show limited availability from specific Shenzhen-based suppliers, with prices for bulk orders (5+ pieces) ranging from $5.10 to $5.20 per unit .
Secondary Markets: eBay is currently the most viable source for individual units, primarily offering used "pulled" parts or generic third-party reproductions Ebay.
Market Demand: While general search interest for "Dell keyboard" remains high (approx. 6,500 monthly searches), specific search volume for legacy replacement keys is low, reflecting a specialized enthusiast or repair-focused user base rather than a mass market.
Critical Compatibility Note: The Mini 1012 keyboard uses a unique ribbon cable connector that is not compatible with the earlier Mini 1010 or 10v models, which often leads to procurement errors in the secondary market Parts-People.

For sourcing, I have identified a primary wholesale supplier in Shenzhen that still maintains stock for these specific laptop models. Details can be found in the attached product search file.
