Posted by u/Guitar_Nutt - 45 votes and 26 comments I actually had a pair of these. They were really good speakers, could rock very loud or voice quiet classical equally well. Excellent cabinetry. The tone control switches could be flacky, but OK if you choose a setting and left it alone. Impossibly unique speakers (I got a pair of the 1020s for free) sounded great with vinyl and were easy to drive. The innards are incredibly esoteric and the tweeter and midrange controls are usually susceptible to breaking. Yes there seems to be plenty of people that like these Koss speakers and the larger 1030 model, apparently the cabinets were made by a grandfather clock manufacturing company.
