Market Trends & Insights

1. 1Aesthetics vs. Performance: The market response highlighted a sharp divide. While the FullVision display was highly rated for its immersive feel and ergonomics, the Snapdragon 435 processor was considered underpowered for a device with a high-resolution screen, leading to performance lag in gaming and multitasking. 2. 2Omission of Standard Features: A major market trend at the time was the inclusion of fingerprint sensors in budget devices. LG's decision to omit this in favor of Face Recognition was widely criticized as less reliable and less secure by consumers. Reddit
3. 3End of Lifecycle: The LG Q6 alpha is now a discontinued legacy device. Gsmarena B2B search results indicate it has largely disappeared from primary wholesale and refurbished markets, replaced by more modern budget devices with USB-C and higher processing power.
4. 4Collector/Secondary Market: It remains a notable device in smartphone history for initiating the transition of "tall" displays into the mass market, though its current utility is limited to basic tasks or as a collectible/entry-level secondary phone. Notebookcheck
