Lm240wu2
Overview
Product sourcing insights & recommendations
The LM240WU2 LCD panel, manufactured by LG Display, is a legacy 24-inch IPS display (1920x1200) primarily known for its use in the 2006–2007 iMacs and high-end WUXGA monitors. As of 2026, market trends show a shift from mainstream usage to a high-demand "second-life" DIY market, where users convert these panels into standalone monitors using third-party controller kits.
Key insights include:
- Variant Importance: The SLA1 is the only guaranteed fit for iMac repairs, while SLB4 is common in industrial/OEM monitors.
- Hardware Limitations: The panel uses CCFL backlighting, making it incompatible with modern LED-based controllers or replacement panels without significant modification.
- Availability: New units are rare; the market is dominated by Grade A/B refurbished stock priced between $90 and $120 USD.
Detailed technical specifications, variant comparisons, and sourcing recommendations are available in the report below.
