by Brad Linder12/14/202312/14/2023 5 Comments on Morefine M6 pocket-sized PC now available with up to an Intel N200 Alder Lake-N processor When the M6 began shipping last year, it was powered by an Intel Celeron N5105 Jasper Lake processor. But Chinese PC maker Morefine has recently begun offering models with a choice of Intel N100 or N200 Alder Lake-N processors. $229 for Intel N200/8GB RAM and no storage – Morefine.com · All models feature LPDDR5-4800 memory that’s soldered to the motherboard, and therefore not use upgradeable. But thanks to two M.2 2280 slots, you should be to bring your own PCIe 3.0 NVMe or SATA SSD. The system may be small, but it’s not silent: there’ a fan for active cooling. ... All the ports are along one side of the computer, and Morefine says the M6 supports VESA mounting, allowing you to attach it to the back of a display. I have the DingDian S3, which is basically the Morefine M6, this uses an Intel N6000 CPU, and I like it, but the fan spins at a constant rate, so it’s kinda loud – and the CPU temperature can go up to 75°C because the fan can’t spin faster. Small fans for this very low power systems is a bad idea: noise and maintenance. It would be much better an aluminum case connected to CPU as cooling solution. I have a bit more hungry CPU PC with very small passive cooled aluminum case: no noise, no fan cleaning/maintenance.

The Beelink MINI S12 Pro is a budget Intel N100 mini PC with up to 16GB of DDR4, a 512GB NVMe SSD,… · At just 5.91 x 3.01 x 0.75 inches, the M6 is small enough to pocket or mount behind a monitor on its included VESA bracket, which suits a tight or cable-tidy desk. The N200 has four cores and no hyper-threading; it handles everyday work and 4K playback well, and the 16GB of LPDDR5 is soldered, so plan your capacity at purchase. The Morefine M6 reviewed here runs Intel’s Processor N200, a four-core, four-thread Alder Lake-N chip with no hyper-threading. It is an efficiency-first part, not a fast one: PassMark currently lists the N200 at a CPU Mark of roughly 4,590 with a single-thread rating near 1,760 (cpubenchmark.net), which by 2026 leaves it at the entry level of the mini PC stack, well below the Ryzen and Core-class chips in pricier boxes. The bundled NVMe drive runs at PCIe Gen 3 x2 speeds because the N200 has few PCIe lanes to spare, though Robtech argues the random 4K performance that actually matters for a snappy desktop is unaffected. He also could not find any fan-speed control in the BIOS. Fan noise stayed “consistently low” at either power level. His verdict: “It’s a really cool form factor, and it’s quiet, but you get lower performance with the MOREFINE M6 than you would with a bigger mini,” and for more speed in a still-small chassis he steers readers to the Morefine M8s N100. He recorded CPU temperatures of roughly 70 to 78 degrees Celsius while forcing Fortnite to run, where the game stuttered between about 14 and 30 fps, though he still found “the fact that this could even run this game is kind of impressive … considering the size of this PC.” Emulation fared far better: PlayStation, Dreamcast, and arcade titles held near 60 fps, and only PS2’s heaviest games bogged down, with God of War 2 looking “laggy, almost like it’s in slow motion.” His bottom line tracks the others: “the Morefine M6 is a great compact, budget-friendly PC that can handle everyday tasks and media consumption. Not really for gaming but you can double this as a nice emulation PC.” · Taken together, three independent testers tell the same story about this N200 build.
