How to Source MacBook Pro A2159 Keyboards & Top Cases

I have completed a comprehensive market analysis of the MacBook Pro A2159 (13-inch, 2019) keyboard.

The report highlights that as these devices age and exit Apple's official 4-year Keyboard Service Program, demand has shifted toward the secondary repair market. While individual butterfly keyboards can be sourced for as little as $5.41 in bulk, most repair shops favor Top Case Assemblies ($50–$120) because they include a new battery and reduce labor intensity. The report also details common failure points such as "sticky keys" and "repeated characters" associated with the butterfly mechanism and provides cost benchmarks for both official and third-party repairs.
