The MikroTik RB411 series is officially classified as End of Life (EOL) as of 2026, marking a complete transition to modern architectures in the MikroTik ecosystem Mikrotik Openwrt. While original units are no longer in mass production, they remain a frequent topic in legacy network maintenance and niche OpenWrt deployments.

Product Overview & Legacy Status

The RB411 was a versatile single-port routerboard designed for embedded applications and wireless links.

* Key Specs: Primarily featured an Atheros AR7130 CPU (300 MHz), 32MB–64MB RAM, and a single Mini-PCI slot for wireless expansion Openwrt Mikrotik.

* Market Sentiment: It is now considered a "vintage" networking component. Users frequently seek it for low-cost legacy repairs or as a platform for learning RouterOS/OpenWrt on restricted hardware Mikrotik.

* Current Pricing: Refurbished or "New Old Stock" (NOS) units typically retail for approximately $49 to $60 on secondary markets like eBay or specialized ISP liquidators Ebay Networkdevicesinc.

Market Trends & Replacement Strategy

The market has shifted toward boards with higher throughput and modernized slots (Mini-PCIe vs. Mini-PCI).

* Direct Successor (RBM11G): The MikroTik RBM11G is the primary modern replacement. It upgrades the architecture to a Dual-Core 880MHz CPU and 256MB RAM, providing significant performance gains for current RouterOS v7 features Networkdevicesinc Mikrotik.

* Integrated Solutions: For users who previously used the RB411 with a wireless card, the trend has moved toward the RB912 series (e.g., RB912UAG-5HPnD), which integrates high-power 5GHz wireless directly onto the board for about $70–$75 Alibaba.

* Demand Drivers: The primary demand for these types of boards in 2026 comes from IoT gateways, WISP outdoor client installations, and industrial custom builds requiring a small footprint and low power consumption Itamtech.
