Market Trends & Insights

* Android Versatility vs. Battery Performance: The C67 was a precursor to the modern "E Ink Tablet" trend. Its use of Android 4.2 allowed for third-party apps (Kindle, Kobo, etc.), but this flexibility came at the cost of battery life. Even with the 3000mAh upgrade in later models, it could not match the weeks of runtime offered by contemporary non-Android Kindles. The-Ebook-Reader Mobileread

* Segment Transition: In 2026, the market for 6-inch e-readers has shifted toward higher performance and color E Ink (e.g., Boox Tab series). Strategicmarketresearch Yahoo The C67 series is now positioned as a entry-level or secondary device for users who prioritize physical page-turn buttons and basic app support over modern speeds. * Resale & Value: The device maintains a niche presence in second-hand markets (eBay/Reddit), often valued between $50–$120 depending on the specific model (Carta2 versions hold more value due to the 300 ppi screen). Goodereader Ebay

* Support Lifecycle: Officially, the C67 series is beyond Onyx's standard 3-year firmware support commitment. Boox Most modern apps now require higher Android versions than its native 4.2, limiting its functionality to offline reading or legacy app versions. Goodereader
