P106-100 6GB Buying Guide for 2026

The NVIDIA P106-100 6GB has evolved from a dedicated crypto-mining tool into a niche "budget king" for hobbyists and value-conscious enterprise users. While technically a GTX 1060 6GB equivalent, it remains distinct due to its lack of video outputs and hardware-locked PCIe bandwidth.

Market Trends & Pricing

* Wholesale Value: Current wholesale prices on B2B platforms range from $23 to $27 per unit for bulk orders of 10+ pieces . This represents roughly 30% of the cost of a standard second-hand GTX 1060 6GB.

* Supply Dynamics: The market is entirely composed of refurbished/used units from decommissioned mining farms. Supplies are concentrated in Shenzhen, China .

* Market Longevity: In 2026, the card is increasingly viewed as a "gateway" GPU for ultra-budget gaming and basic AI experimentation rather than a viable mining asset.

Product Insights & Performance

* Technical Bottleneck: The card is hardware-limited to PCIe 1.1 x16 bandwidth, leading to a performance loss of ~10–12% compared to consumer counterparts Techpowerup Alibaba.

* "Gaming Hack" Trend: A popular community trend involves using modded drivers and integrated GPU (iGPU) passthrough to use the P106-100 for gaming Alibaba Linustechtips. This allows budget builds to play titles like *CS2* or *Dota 2* at 1080p for under $40.

* Alternative Utility: Its 6GB of VRAM makes it a cost-effective choice for headless compute tasks, including:

* AI Inference: Running lightweight models (e.g., Stable Diffusion 1.5, Whisper).

* Media Servers: Hardware-accelerated video transcoding (NVENC) for Plex or jellyfin.

* Distributed Rendering: Budget-friendly nodes for 3D rendering farms.
