The PPTV King 7 (and its 3D-capable sibling, the King 7S) is a vintage Android phablet originally released in late 2015. While it was a pioneer in high-resolution, media-centric budget devices, it is now considered an obsolete product in the 2026 market, with PPTV having pivoted its hardware focus entirely toward smart televisions.

Product Overview: The "King" of 2015

The King 7 was designed to leverage PPTV's position as a leading Chinese video streaming platform, offering premium media consumption hardware at a disruptive price point. Gizmochina Devicespecifications

Market Trends & Current Insights

* Brand Pivot: PPTV (owned by Suning.com) has effectively exited the smartphone market. As of 2024-2025, the brand's hardware strategy is focused on Smart TVs (e.g., the 85-inch 85G6A model released in late 2024). Tracxn Suning Suning

* Availability: The King 7 is no longer in active production. B2B search results on platforms like Alibaba show no direct supply for this model; instead, the market has moved toward modern 5G phablets (6.7"–6.9") with significantly higher battery capacities (6000mAh+) and modern Android 14.0/15.0 OS.

* Legacy Value: In 2026, the device remains a niche item for collectors or budget hobbyists looking for a cheap Hi-Fi music player or a 2K screen for offline video playback. Its lack of modern security updates and Google Play compatibility makes it unsuitable for daily use. Gizmochina Xdaforums

Strategic Insight for Sourcing

If you are looking for the "PPTV King 7 experience" today, you should focus on OEM Phablets or Media-focused brands that offer:

1Large Screen-to-Body Ratios: Modern 6.8"+ OLED screens have replaced the large-bezel IPS 2K screens of the past.
2Dedicated DACs: While rare in mainstream phones, specialized audio-centric phones or high-end ROG/Sony models carry the legacy of the King 7's Hi-Fi focus.
3Content-Bundled Hardware: The trend of "streaming platform phones" (like PPTV, LeEco, or Amazon Fire Phone) has largely failed, replaced by app-based ecosystem integration on standard hardware. Sensortower Wikipedia
