The Redmi Note 4 (Gray Color), primarily the Snapdragon 625 variant, remains a significant benchmark in Xiaomi's history, representing the "golden era" of its mid-range dominance. By late 2026, the device has transitioned from a mainstream choice to a niche product valued for its industrial design, durable all-metal build, and legacy reliability.

Product Overview: The "Gray" Standard

The Dark Gray (or Space Gray) version was the most sought-after color due to its premium, understated look compared to the Silver and Gold variants Androidheadlines Mouthshut.

* Premium Build: It features an all-metal unibody with CNC chamfered edges and 2.5D curved glass, which provides a flagship-level hand-feel that modern plastic budget phones often lack Gsmarena.

* Performance Efficiency: While the MediaTek variant was the initial release, the Snapdragon 625 version (India/Global) became the definitive model due to its high power efficiency and lack of thermal issues Gsmarena Wordpress.

* Longevity: Its 4,100 mAh battery set a standard for "two-day battery life," a feature that users still cite in long-term durability reviews as a primary reason for the phone's survival in secondary markets Mouthshut Indiatimes.

* Niche Value: High-quality refurbished units with original gray housing can still reach $45–$95 in specific sourcing channels, often preferred as "backup phones" due to their durable metal frames Alibaba.

* Search Interest: Interest peaked in April 2026, likely driven by nostalgia or discussions around Xiaomi's 10-year design evolution, before stabilizing back to low levels .

Market Insights
