Bought the RT5 so I'd have my own work radio. Easy to program, easy to use, better sound than the $600 junk radios at work! Retevis' customer service is excellent - they quickly answered all of my questions and were so helpful! I tested the output of the Retevis RT5 at 7watts with its small 1400mah battery. I have other Baufeng radios like the 8 watt UV-5R that really put out 7.5 but only 7 watts if you use a slim battery. This leads me to believe the RT5 has the guts of the 8 watt Baufeng,... So if they ever came out with a bigger battery for the RT5 it would most likely match the 7.5 watts of the 8 watt UV-5R. Programed easily with CHIRP. I accidentally programed it as UV5R. Despite this it seems to work fine. I used the Retevis programing cable and driver as I was unable to get the radio to connect using a the V5RV cable that works on every else I have, then again it might just be the driver. Terrific for the price: Plenty of power - reaches out even with the standard "rubber ducky" antenna, and sounds good; but the manual is tiny. I needed a magnifying glass to read it. It's also a little hard to understand, not really complete. Luckily there is a YouTube description on how to program it, not made by Retevis.

Ordered on official Retevis site a bundle of 2 RT668D radios with two compatible mike-speakers. Surprised to receive much bigger bundle with same type of radios. Reported from the site by message to Customer Service, I received immediately a very commercial positive feedback. Horrible customer service. The belt clips on these radios break easily. I use them at my business. I ordered a set of new ones from retevis.com. When I made the order it said they were in stock and they would be shipped within a couple days and I would have them within a week or two.
