Interactive Projection Mapping, Video Mapping Services | Omnispace360

Our media server technology allows us to have content adhere to the shape and properties of highly customized displays and projection surfaces! ... Projection mapping utilizes video projectors to “map” a video image projected onto an object, structure, or even mist or water. The sky is the limit for the possibilities of what surfaces, objects and even water that we can map, ranging from inflatable structures of any possible structures or designs of any shape and size! We can even create giant projections in the sky as if out of nothing like the “Bat Signal” such as a recent project that we did for the NFL at the Super Bowl in Miami. We can also video projection map the outside of our geodesic and inflatable projection domes. Omnispace takes projection mapping to the ultimate level by designing fully immersive “Spatial Augmented Reality Environments” where every single surface being video mapped and fully interactive! These fully projection mapped environments allow for the users to interact with the projected imagery using an advanced tracking system and all without the use of VR or AR goggles. Video mapping can also be in the form of LED or LCD panels or flat screens. These are emissive displays and so they emit the light from within as opposed to projection where the surface is reflecting the projected light. Because of this there are some applications where these types of displays are much more applicable and efficient such as concerts and stage shows where there is a lot of other light being used.

The KUMO Project - Projection Mapping in Clouds in the Sky

We wanto to project images on clouds! This is a collaborative project by Daikin, the glibal guru of air conditioning, and the ultra-technologists group teamLab, to try to project images and doodle on clouds. It is set to go live in September, 2013. This is a collaborative project by Daikin, the global guru of air conditioning, and the ultra-technologists group teamLab, to try to project images and doodle on clouds. If we study the air in order to understand clouds, and if we make full use of our technology, can we project on to the clouds? We want to create images that no one has ever seen before, that are like dreams that we can show to the wonder of the entire world! This was what led us to kick off this dream plan, The Cloud Project, which is a collection of the skills of Daikin Industries, who are constantly thinking about air, and the ultra-technologists group, teamLab. We ran trial projections for several days and confirmed that under the appropriate meteorological environment and with the preparation of specific conditions such as equipment and facilities, setup position, etc., that we can project images from the ground onto clouds.

Maxin10sity realises American dream of 'sky mapping' | AV Magazine

Projection mapping specialist Maxin10sity has created the illusion of a mapping of the sky in a New Year’s Eve project for event production company Modern Enterprises in Seattle in the US. When Seattle, Washington was forced to adapt its customary New Year’s Eve celebrations due to the ongoing disruption caused by Covid-19 necessity, once again, proved to be the mother of invention. The result – a collaboration between event production company Modern Enterprises LLC and projection mapping specialist Maxin10sity – was a revolutionary ‘sky mapping’ show that saw virtual lights, projection, and special effects superimposed on live footage of the city’s most iconic landmark, the Space Needle, and the sky above. Although the New Year’s Eve sky mapping show – fittingly named The Dream – had its own advantages (such as the absence of civic considerations like security, power, crowd control, and portable toilets) the team still only had two months to realise this unprecedented concept: mapping projections, lights, and special effects on the sky itself. “There are challenges in all productions but, because this show is something new, we had to be very prepared and think through everything twice,” said Vaspöri. Projection mapping specialist Maxin10sity has created the illusion of a mapping of the sky in a New Year's Eve project for event production company Modern Enterprises in Seattle in the US. “The beam lights and the mapping effects on the structure could be made today, no problem,” he said. “We could project onto special mesh screens so the audience could see holographic effects and (with enough projector brightness) even project onto the clouds above. With this in mind, I would say real-life sky mapping is not too far away; it’s just a question of the technology.

Digital Planetarium Systems – Sky-Skan

Aim an array of high-resolution video projectors at the projection dome. Feed them with synchronized, geometrically corrected, edge-blended images from computers. The result is magic: A seamless hemispheric image that engulfs the audience, extending beyond the periphery of their vision. We have been doing this since 1998 using affordable professional-quality hardware controlled by our amazing software. We were the first, and are still the best. ... Sky-Skan systems use between one and sixteen video projectors, located at or near the dome center, or out of sight beneath and behind the dome horizon. A Sky-Skan Digital Planetarium can become more powerful by adding accessories and upgrades, at the time of purchase or afterwards. ... External Media Inputs – Put a laptop or game console on the dome, no need for a separate “inset” projector · Support for 3rd Party Hemispheric Applications – Run hemisphere-aware programs on your Sky-Skan system Image fidelity and stability for cinematic and simulation use · Available optics for optimized overlaps = maximum resolution ... We avoid projectors that will flood your dome with “light pollution,” a ghastly gray luminosity that transforms your glorious visualization of a moonless night into a dystopian sky reminiscent of Blade Runner. There’s no perceived “waviness” on the screen when objects such as planets and spacecraft move from one projector field to another. Our unique edge-blending process delivers pixel-perfect results. The heart of a Sky-Skan planetarium is DigitalSky – Dark Matter, our cluster-based computing solution that combines programmable science simulation, fulldome video playback, external device control, and show performance control in one elegant, flexible, and powerful user interface.
