IBM Storwize V7000 for Lenovo is a virtualized, software-defined storage system designed to consolidate workloads into a single storage system for simplicity of management, reduced cost, highly scalable capacity, and high performance and availability. This product guide describes the Storwize V7000 Storage System that is available from Lenovo. IBM Storwize V7000 for Lenovo (Machine Type 6195) is a virtualized, software-defined storage system that consolidates workloads into a single storage system for simplicity of management, reduced cost, highly scalable capacity, and high performance and availability. Storwize V7000 storage controller units include two node canisters, each with 32 GB cache for a system total of 64 GB cache. Also available is an optional cache upgrade to 128 GB or 256 GB per system (64 GB or 128 GB per node canister). Storwize V7000 offers both Large Form Factor (LFF) and Small Form Factor (SFF) 12 Gb SAS storage expansion units. LFF expansion unit supports up to 12 3.5-inch drives, while the SFF expansion unit supports up to 24 2.5-inch drives. High-performance disk drives, high-capacity nearline disk drives, and flash (solid state) drives are supported.

Ability to cluster with older Storwize V7000 storage systems and IBM FlashSystems. IBM V7000 1st Generation 2076-324, 2076-324, 2076-312, 2076-124 and 2076-112: 1.92 PB max raw storage via 240 SAN modules (960 via 4-way clustering), up to 870,000 IOPS (3,400,000 IOPS clustered), up to 6 GB/s max bandwidth and up to 64 GiB cache per I/O group or 128 GiB per I/O group node pair. The IBM Storwize V7000 delivers software defined storage capabilities adopted from mainframe storage technologies used to managed internal and external tiered storage systems.
