Y 869 Speaker
Overview
Product sourcing insights & recommendations
The term 'Y 869' typically refers to two distinct products in the audio market: a luxury audiophile amplifier and a budget-friendly line of car audio speakers. No single "portable Bluetooth speaker" exists under this exact model name from major brands, though it is often confused with YIER or Awei models (like the Awei Y669).
1. Key Product Profiles
The "Y 869" identifier is shared by three vastly different segments:
* High-End Audiophile (EAR Yoshino 869): A premium integrated tube amplifier Audiohum. It delivers 2 x 15 Watts of Class A power using "Enhanced Triode Mode," targeting enthusiasts who value warm, transparent sound. It is a niche, high-value item priced around €7,700 Audiohum.
* Budget Car Audio (Volfenhag ZX-869R): A 6x9-inch 4-way coaxial speaker known for its flashy red cone and high peak power ratings (up to 800W) Woofersetc. These are entry-level aftermarket upgrades for vehicles, prioritized for loudness and low cost (approx. $60–$70/pair) Woofersetc.
* Consumer Portable (YIER/Awei Similarities): Users often search for "Y 869" when looking for the YIER 80W Portable Speaker or the Awei Y669 (31W) AmazonAmazon. These products dominate the budget Bluetooth segment, featuring TWS pairing and IPX7 waterproofing StartechWholesalegadgets.
2. Market Trends & Insights
* Aesthetic Branding over Specs: In the budget car speaker market (like the ZX-869R), "800W Peak Power" is a marketing anchor rather than a technical one; the RMS power (real-world performance) is typically closer to 70W–100W Woofersetc.
* The "Loud & Rugged" Trend: Portable speakers in this category (YIER/Awei) reflect a shift toward hybrid usage. Consumers demand devices that work for home gyms but are rugged enough for beach or camping trips, driving the popularity of wooden enclosures for sound resonance and RGB lighting for party atmosphere AmazonAlibaba.
* TWS Interconnectivity: A major market driver is the ability to pair two affordable units to create a 160W stereo field, allowing budget brands to compete with high-end "boombox" style speakers at a fraction of the cost StartechAmazon.
3. Sourcing Opportunities
B2B search results indicate that while the specific "Y 869" SKU is rare, the 6x9-inch car speaker format remains a staple in wholesale, with units starting as low as $9–$11 for bulk orders from Chinese manufacturers AlibabaAlibaba.

EAR Yoshino 869. Integrated tube amplifier. 2 x 15 W

Thus, the 869 was born: retaining the foundation of the 859's output topology but with a slight revision in the output transformer and an optimized input stage with an additional tube for signal control. These small adjustments resulted in a modest yet noticeable increase in output power, reaching 15W per channel, as well as better control of operating conditions, regardless of tube specifications. SET Asylum: REVIEW: EAR/Yoshino 869 Integrated Amplifier (Tube) ...
www.audioasylum.com
You cannot ask for much more than that. The second CD that I popped on was the Daniel Baremboim Beethoven Sonatas on EMI Classic Recordings of the Century. I listened specifically to the Pathetique. I am no classical music specialist, believe me, but of all the version of this sonata that I have heard this is my favourite. Considering the size of the speakers I have (around 10inches high and 8 deep) the sound of the piano is huge. I will, therefore, comment on the performance of the EAR based on my current system which is Sony SCD-XA333ES CD/SACD player (not US changer), EAR 869 Amp (obviously), PMC DB1 speakers hooked up with a Van Den Hul Integration Interconnect and QED Silver anniversary speaker cable (single wire). A new pair of Harbeths were out of my price range and so I set about auditioning many speakers in order to find a pair that got me close to the sound of the Harbeths but at a significant cost saving. I eventually settled on the PMCââ¬â¢s which were half the price but equal (and in the bass, better) in performance. The EAR 869 originally started life as the EAR 859. Baremboims piano appears between the speakers free from their boxes with startling clarity. Fabulous!! Finally, I put James Taylorââ¬â¢s fantastic album (if you like that sort of thing ââ¬â and I do) Hourglass into the CD Player and as the first track ââ¬â Line ââ¬ËEm Up - played I let his smooth, soothing voice wash over me like a gentle tide ebbing and flowing with the music.
